MANTIC READINGS

I have been a mantis and diviner for over 30 years, starting with Tarot, then learning runes, sortilege, bibliomancy, and other methods, in addition to ongoing practice with oracular trance. I choose which tool(s) to use via intuition or preliminary divination to suit each querent and question. This is not simply mechanical divination, but is done in an altered state of consciousness in order to receive answers from divine entities, utilizing (but not solely relying upon) the messages and symbolism of the cards or other divinatory methods. After the proper rites and offerings, I loosen my mind through prayer, entheogens, and breathwork before seeking an answer.

This work is done primarily under the auspices of Atropos, the eldest of the Moirai; I also pay cultus to the Pythiai and other dead seeresses. However, this practice is not limited to the Hellenic tradition, and I am able and willing to receive messages from a wide variety of gods and spirits.

Divination is performed as needed, for a single querent at a time. To request a reading, first inquire as to my availability by emailing dver at birdspiritland dot com. Once confirmed, please send whatever fee you can afford (I employ a sliding scale of between $5 and $50 per question) via Paypal, along with an email with the name you wish to be known by for the session, and your question/s. It would also be helpful to me to know your primary gods (to petition Them directly) and/or religious tradition. Please phrase your question simply. Note that I prefer to receive as little background information as possible, so as to remain a clear and unbiased conduit. Unlike the oracles, divinatory readings are offered for most topics, although I always reserve the right to decline a question that seems inappropriate, or to refuse divination work for any reason or no reason at all. You will receive a response via email when completed; the length and style will vary.

YEAR AHEAD ORACLES

In the liminal space between one year and the next, I sit before the gods and the Fates and inquire as to the nature of the coming year on behalf of querents. I employ a variety of divination methods along with direct divine communication, as with my mantic readings. Responses will address a number of topics as well as give a seasonal overview; no specific question is needed.

THE ORACLE OF WOLF-BRIGHT APOLLON

I spent seven years serving Apollon as a mantis modeled on the Pythia at Delphi before my spiritual life changed in ways that led me to set aside the practice. In the intervening years, I continued honing my skills in trance and receptivity and deity communication, and offering various forms of divination (see below). Eventually I was instructed in a dream to take up the oracular mantle again, but in a new form.

The Oracle of Wolf-Bright Apollon draws on many different ancient oracles of the god as well as the tradition of nympholepsy, and is deeply rooted in the spirit of place where it is held, including a sacred grove and nearby spring. While Apollon and the local marsh nymphs oversee and inspire the practice, I am able and willing to receive messages from a wide variety of gods and spirits both within the Hellenic tradition and outside of it.

Sessions take place at dawn on the Sunday before the full moon from April through August. Each is open to only three querents, owing to the intensive trancework involved.

Once confirmed, send your question via email, along with the name you’d like me to use when addressing the gods on your behalf. Note that this oracle accepts questions on religious matters only. Instead of direct monetary payment, I request some form of reciprocal gift for an oracle. The easiest way to do this is to purchase one or more books from my wishlist, however I am open to other types of exchange. Gifts are on an honor system.
